Youth Advocacy League
Director: Greg Dietz

Youth Advocacy League is a social justice organization of Shaler Area High School students that do a variety of projects within the community and around the area.  We are involved with communtiy development, student mediations, violence protection, conflict resolution, and mentoring.

Partnering with Groupon's G-Team, Seeds of Hope ran a campaign for donations. For every 50 people that donate $10 dollars, we are able to build 5 community garden plots for veterans. We raised over $15,000.00! Thanks so much for your support.

Group Objectives:

  • To provide Youth Advocacy League students with opportunities to give back to the school and community.
  • To create a sense of purpose, compassion, and belonging.
  • To deal constructively with conflict.
  • To increase awareness concerning intolerance and inequality in our communities.
  • To train young people in the following areas: communication, stress management, and interpersonal/intrapersonal skills.
  • To bring about change in our community in the various areas of social injustice.
